Yoga is about building an inner connection between the body, the breath and the mind to find peace, balance and a sense of well-being.
Yoga is as powerful and rewarding as one makes it, and exploring this energy among
the safety of men adds to its strength.
STYLE OMY classes are
taught in a classic hatha tradition
with influences of Kriya, Tantra and
Sufism. The emphasis is on moving
energy intelligently and seamlessly through breathing, postures and meditation.
The deeper, more beneficial effects of yoga can be realized by focusing on body
alignment, conscious use of breath and stilling the mind.
Most of us are in need of relaxation, and yoga will challenge participants. The use of
progressive sequencing and breath work will ultimately lead to a deeper sense
of peace by the end of every class.
OMY offers classes exclusively to men. Nude classes are currently ongoing, and drop-ins are always welcome. Clothed classes will be offered if there are sufficient requests to form a group.
LEVEL All classes are taught incrementally for all levels
of participants. Yoga is a very personal process, so everyone is individually
and collectively encouraged to practice and progress at his own pace without feeling
pushed or held back.
For those with
specific, acute health issues, group classes are not recommended without
prior approval of a health-care provider.
